If there is one companion apart from Clara Oswald I refuse to tolerate hearing shit get talked about, it’s Martha freaking Jones.

Let’s not forget Martha financially supporting herself and the Doctor while they were stuck in the past.

Martha does NOT get the props she deserves.

I thought it was funny until I realized the cat doesn’t run away but it rolls away  now it’s fucking hilarious

IT JUST ROLLS AWAY IM CRYING

OMG I’M SO DONE

The dog’s just like…… dafuq?

I’m so done

I don’t know what to think any more. Of course that could be due to how much I’m laughing

Maybe you should just read the book instead then, it would probably be a lot faster and you know, less lazy

sorry anon i’m actually p dyslexic so it’s actually really hard for me to read books. i love stories, i seriously adore them, and i do own the book, but it is really tiring and difficult for me to read so i take ages and ages and ages to get through books (especially because i often have to re-read entire paragraphs because i’ve gotten the words in the wrong order)

i’m sorry that you think i’m lazy buddy, but it’s just the easiest and most enjoyable way for me to take the story in. i’ve been listening to audio books my entire life and it’s actually the way that i take in the most information, so it’s just an all round great format for me

so i mean i’ll probably read the book directly a bit, but i’m gonna go ahead and keep listening to the audio for the main chunk of it, just because that works best for me.

yo I am sorry for rebloggin this and getting all up in your business, but holy shit this anon annoyed me.

It’s somehow lazy to consume media? It’s lazy to listen to audio books—a medium that has been around for years and years—instead of reading them?

Ok let’s look this elitist bullshit right in the mouth for a sec. First of all, not everyone LIKES reading books. I love reading, and I always have since I was little. I read everything I can. My mum and brother do too. My father, however, does not. He isn’t dyslexic, but he does have issues processing information that isn’t read to him. It’s just how he learns. He’s always been the kind of person who engages with vocal information more quickly than printed information.

Does that make him lazy? No actually it makes him have to work about 90% harder than I do to read books or essays for school or just for when he wants to learn something new. He had to find programs so he can scan his books into the computer and have them read to him. Cuz otherwise the information just doesn’t stick.

Like this reminds me so much of the idea that reading anything but physical books is “lazy” or somehow “cheating” or “not real” reading, which is such bullshit. Anon you know what the amazing part about audio books are? They allow you to multitask, among other things. It allows you to take a book with you and engage in the story anywhere while doing anything. You can work out, do chores, etc. while continuing a story you love. That is literally the opposite of being lazy.

Also let me super clear—if it wasn’t already obvious—reading and listening to oral recitation of a story GIVES YOU THE EXACT SAME INFORMATION IN THE SAME WAY, except it’s not your fucking inner voice reading the words.

As a writer I am for multiple media books. It means that stories and be accessed cheaply and easily by more people. It means that people who have trouble reading, writing, don’t speak the original language of the text, or have speech impediments can access materials to help them grow and learn more readily than printed books.

Get off your fucking high horse and actually think about what you are saying. Fucking hell.
